Commission an Original Painting

There’s something special about having a painting created just for you — one that captures a memory, a feeling, or the exact kind of energy you want to bring into your space.

I take a limited number of commissions each year that can include bold, textured palette knife paintings, expressive acrylic paintings, portraits, buildings, abstracts or mixed-media works to name a few. Every piece begins with a conversation: what inspires you, what kind of atmosphere you’d like the painting to have, and where it will live.

How It Works

  1. Share your vision
    Tell me what you’re imagining — size, subject, color direction, or any reference photos that capture the mood or setting you have in mind.
  2. Quote & timeline
    I’ll send a personalized quote and estimated timeline based on size, medium, and current workload.
  3. Deposit & start
    A 50% deposit secures your spot in my schedule. I’ll order materials and begin concept sketches or composition planning if needed.
  4. Painting & progress updates
    You’ll receive progress updates along the way so you can stay informed.
  5. Final approval & delivery
    Once your painting is complete, I’ll send final photos for approval. The remaining balance is due before delivery or shipping.

Investment

Every commission is unique, but here’s a general idea:

  • Acrylic paintings typically begin around $350 @11x14"
  • Oil paintings generally start around $500 @11x14"
  • Palette Knife oil paintings generally start around $920 @16x20"
  • Larger or more detailed projects are quoted individually based on size, medium, and creative complexity.

Your quote will include canvas, materials, and any chosen customizations. I’ll always be upfront about costs so there are no surprises.

Optional Add-Ons

You can personalize your commission even further with options like:

  • Floater frame
  • Custom subject or concept
  • Rush project (if I need to reprioritize my workload)
  • Preliminary sketches
  • Custom color scheme to match your interior

Add-ons are always discussed before work begins and reflected in your final quote.

Policies & Details

  • Deposit: 50% to begin; non-refundable once materials are ordered.
  • Timeline: Most commissions take 6–10 weeks depending on size and medium.
  • Shipping: Insured shipping available at cost; local pickup or delivery can be arranged.
  • Mediums: Oil, acrylic, or mixed media on professional-grade gallery-depth canvas.
  • Rights: I retain copyright and reproduction rights for all original works.
