About Laura Lippay
I am a painter of color and movement—expressive oil palette knife abstracts, energetic contemporary acrylics, and the occasional figurative piece when the mood strikes. I thrive on putting together striking palettes, mixing giant piles of oil paint, and spreading them onto canvas like butter. Much of my palette knife work dances between abstract, organic, and landscape-ish, though I also love to dive into cityscapes and commissioned projects.
My acrylic work takes on a different kind of energy—splashes, drips, and bursts of color that radiate playfulness and momentum. Between oil and acrylic, I get to explore the full spectrum of what paint can do: from thick, velvety layers to fast-moving marks that feel alive.
As of fall 2025, I live on the road, traveling the East Coast in my Airstream—outfitted as both a paint studio and print shop—alongside my two cats Ozzy and Gigi. Together we wander from art fair to art fair, bringing bold, colorful work to new places and people.
Before devoting myself fully to art, I spent 25 years in the tech world, including 18 years in Silicon Valley, leading teams in SEO (search engine optimization). These experiences sharpened my eye for experimentation, structure, and storytelling—skills that now flow naturally into my creative practice.
While I still moonlight in SEO and AI optimization, my central focus is painting. My work can currently be found at: The Artery Gallery (Milford, PA) Wayne County Arts Alliance (Honesdale, PA) White Space Gallery (Hackettstown, NJ) I’m also a member of the Pocono Arts Council and Wayne County Arts Alliance, and selections of my originals are always available at The Artery Gallery.
At the heart of all my work is a desire to bring out the sparkles of light in velvety souls—to inspire imagination, playfulness, romanticism, and fortitude. My art is bold, colorful, and a little rebellious, much like the path I’ve chosen to live it on. ✨
